Rainbow food series – Blue
Is blue a sad colour? It doesn’t have to be. The sky is blue when the sun is out. That means a lot in a bitterly cold, dull, wet and gloomy winter.
But on another note, blue food is very hard to find, except for blueberries; and blue may be a sad colour for some but I have a wonderful sister who made me smile with her amazing red velvet cake that I topped up with a bucketful of blueberries. It seems wrong to eat this during Lent, but it was made with love for my birthday.

HAPPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY!!! Don’t you just LOVE Red Velvet Birthday Cakes! I made the same for my Mom last month. As for blueberries, they are the Superheroines/heros of Fruit! YUM!!!
Thank you Diettra! Do you have a recipe for red velvet cake? I have never made one myself… except for Betty Crocker’s pre-mixed one
Healthy and delicious all on one plate – nice one!
Thanks trixfred30. We MUST have our cake and eat it… with a side of salad
I do.
I’ve been tweaking a family recipe. I think Its getting there. Everyone loved the birthday cakes. I’m in the process of writing it up for a post now. You’ll be the first I share with! Your Lenten Rainbow has been Inspiring!
